Roof Handles are there to help the passengers get out of the car. You reach up and use the handle to help lift yourself out of the seat. Usually the driver doesn’t have one because they have the steering wheel, they can push out on it but still roof handle is preferable. They’re a safety feature for people with disabilities or other mobility issues.
